Our client is starting to interact more with 3rd party web services and creating their own web services to facilitate communication between homegrown desktop apps and those 3rd party web services. This web service route will continue to grow over the coming years, and they will begin transitioning current tech from the desktop and into a web environment, as well. Emerging technology trends will play more into the transition to web over the next few years. Since these technologies move fast, it's hard to say what technology will evolve to over time. On the radar currently is cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.) and web techs like Angular, React, etc.

In general, our client is not married to specific techs or languages - they want to use the tech and tools that are the best fit for the team and the job at hand. They expect anyone on the team to stay on top of tech as they continue to innovate in their space.
