JOB SUMMARY

GTN Technical Staffing is currently seeking a Desktop Services Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Dallas, TX. The Desktop Services Engineer provides end user support for desktop hardware and software assets. This role also requires management of the ServiceNow ITSM tool and OS deployment toolset. Relies on experience and judgment as well as pre-established procedure and instructions to identify, research, and resolve technical problems presented through Level I, II and III Service Desk incident. Documents, tracks, and monitors incidents to ensure a timely resolution.

  • Provide remote and on-site support to locations around the USA, in areas of PC support, including installations, troubleshooting, and hardware and network support.
  • Troubleshoot and repair incidents escalated from Level 1 and Level 2 Service Desk Teams.
  • Assist with implementation of Change Control tasks where required.
  • Create, update, and manage Windows OS images with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
  • Deploy and manage Trend Micro Desktop antivirus and encryption software.
  • Maintenance of ServiceNow ITSM system to include changes to workflows, Service Catalog, requested additions, user and group management, reports, and other duties as requested.
  • Install and configure hardware and software for employees.
  • Interface with infrastructure, database, and development personnel when required.
  • Follow IT Policy and IT Security policies and procedures.
  • Actively contribute to ongoing process improvement.
  • Participate in the IT on-call rotation.
  • Works with the Service Desk Manager concerning strategic and tactical plans for desktop support and ITSM direction.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

3+ years of experience in the following skill sets:

  • Service Now ITSM management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Group Policy.
  • Experience with Windows OS Scripting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.
  • Experience with Trend Micro Security Suite.
  • Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
  • Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
  • Experience with Dell hardware and peripherals.
  • Experience in supporting various local and network based printing technologies.
  • Exposure and support experience with Cisco VPN technologies.

PREFERRED (but not required)

  • A+/Network+/MCP/MCTS Certifications
  • Large scale, enterprise environments
