£67 - £77 per hour (40-hour working week) - Inside IR35

Digital Skills is thrilled to partner with a leading global travel agency in their quest to find an exceptional Software Engineer on an initial 4-month contract. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the creation, administration, and management of promotions displayed on their websites and apps. Within this team, you will play a key role in implementing technical solutions to support the creation, application, and reporting of promotions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and customer service teams to enhance functionality and ensure a seamless promotional experience for our users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the execution of technical elements within the client's tech stack, products, and processes related to car promotions.
  • Implement technical solutions based on business requirements, ensuring high quality and reliability of deliverables.
  • Estimate the effort and impact of technical tasks, and prioritize accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other job roles to design, prioritize, and implement technical tasks.
  • Participate in pair programming sessions to enhance code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Refactor both production code and test automation to ensure ease of change and sustainable development pace.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated tests to ensure reliable releases into production.
  • Work within an Agile environment, following CI/CD practices and Kanban methodology.

Key Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Node.js and React for developing scalable and interactive web applications.
  • Experience using TypeScript.
  • Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK) for cloud-based application deployment and management.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and tools for automated software delivery.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Test Automation:

  • Understanding and appreciation of the importance of test automation for ensuring software quality.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot for integration purposes, though not strictly necessary.
